Our agates are Ethically Sourced from African artisanal miners, who extract and polish them by hand. They have not been heat treated or dyed in any way, unlike many agates on the market.
An Agate is an igneous rock which was formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. When minerals and other impurities seep into the water-filled cavity inside the rock, an enormous range of colours form interesting patterns across the gem.
Agates were some of the first stones which were made into jewellery, thousands of years ago.
